About
Dr. Mustafa O. Guler is Senior Instructional Professor and Director of Experiential Learning at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, his research develops peptide-based biomaterials for therapeutic applications.
His laboratory focuses on molecular engineering of self-assembling peptide systems for regenerative medicine, drug delivery, and immunoengineering. Key innovations include: glycosaminoglycan-mimetic nanofibers for cartilage regeneration; neuroactive scaffolds for spinal cord repair; and antigen-presenting nanomaterials for cancer immunotherapy. Materials are designed through computational modeling and validated in disease models.
Publications demonstrate cross-disciplinary integration of peptide chemistry, nanomaterial science, and biomedical engineering. Recent work emphasizes translational applications in ocular drug delivery, neural regeneration, and immunomodulation. He maintains editorial roles for Scientific Reports, RSC Advances, and Molecules.
