Mingyue Ji is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida and Director of the EdgeAI Laboratory. With expertise spanning machine learning, distributed systems, and information theory, she investigates AI algorithms for IoT, wireless sensing, and networking applications. Ji holds a PhD from the University of Southern California and previously served as Staff II System Design Scientist at Broadcom.
Her research explores the intersection of machine learning, distributed computing/storage, communication networks, and information theory. Current investigations focus on developing edge AI platforms, applying AI to IoT and wireless systems, and understanding fundamental AI principles through optimization and information-theoretic perspectives. She leads multiple collaborative projects in federated learning and edge computing architectures.
Ji has received significant recognition including an NSF CAREER Award (2022) and multiple best paper awards from IEEE conferences. Her honors include teaching excellence awards and the IEEE Leonard G. Abraham Prize for foundational contributions to communications theory. The EdgeAI Laboratory under her direction develops novel approaches to trustworthy edge computing applications.
