Michał Matlak is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Łódź, and holds multiple research positions including Advocacy Coordinator at CEU Democracy Institute Enlargement Hub and Senior Fellow at Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. He serves as Managing Editor of the Review of Democracy and co-founded the European Center for Constitutional Studies.

Research focuses on democratization processes, EU constitutional order, security policy, and Eastern enlargement.
