Veronica Anghel is a Part-time Assistant Professor at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies within the European University Institute (EUI). She co-leads the 'EU Enlargement Hub', a research and capacity-building initiative involving the EUI, CEU Democracy Institute, and Kyiv School of Economics, focusing on EU enlargement lessons for policy recommendations. Her academic work bridges comparative politics and international relations, with a focus on European integration, democratization, and the transatlantic relationship.
- Education: PhD in Political Science from the University of Bucharest (co-direction with University of Bordeaux)
Her research has been published in journals like West European Politics, Political Science Quarterly, and European Journal of Political Research, alongside co-editing Developments in European Politics 3 and serving as an Editorial Fellow for Government & Opposition. She has practical experience as a Foreign Affairs Advisor for the Romanian Presidential Administration and Senate (2012–2015), and participation in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
