Dr. Michael Kend is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Info Sys & Supply Chain at RMIT University, where he has served full-time since 2007. Previously, he was an Accounting Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU) from 2003 to 2007. His research focuses on accounting education, audit technology, audit and assurance markets, and corporate law reforms. He has published in leading journals such as Accounting and Finance and ABACUS, and secured grants from organizations like ICAEW, CPA Australia, and the ARC Linkage grants. Since 2025, he has coordinated the Department’s research seminars. Dr. Kend supervises Masters and PhD students and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). His work bridges academic research with practical audit challenges in diverse contexts, including Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Europe.
