Michael Fong is an Associate Professor in the Art Department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he focuses on integrating digital fabrication technologies into artistic practice and education.

Research Interests
His scholarly and creative work centers on digital fabrication, exploring how advanced manufacturing tools—such as CNC routing, 3-D printing, and laser cutting—can expand traditional sculptural and graphic practices. He is particularly interested in bridging studio art, design, and technology to cultivate new pedagogical models and research initiatives.
Having previously helped establish digital fabrication curricula and facilities at Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, Fong now seeks to build robust fabrication labs and collaborative research environments at UNLV, fostering cross-disciplinary projects that span art, engineering, and emerging media.
