Michael Genova

Michael Genova is an Associate Professor in Residence and Program Director at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) within the Entertainment Engineering and Design department. With over two decades of experience in live entertainment, he bridges artistic and technical domains through research and practice.

• Degree: MFA in Theatre with emphasis in Technical Direction and Scenic Technology from UNLV

His research focuses on integrating CNC machining and additive manufacturing into scenic applications, reflecting his expertise in theatrical special effects and automation systems. Teaching interests include problem-centered learning, project-based learning, and peer teaching methodologies.

Professionally, Genova has collaborated with industry leaders like Flying by Foy, contributing mechanical design and fabrication solutions, and served as an automation technician for the Las Vegas production Le Rêve – The Dream. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration between engineering and performing arts disciplines.
