Michael Alexander, DMA, is a Professor of String Music Education at Baylor University and serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Baylor School of Music. He joined Baylor in 2006 after a 22-year career teaching orchestra at Stratford HS in Houston, Texas.
- Degrees: BME from Southwestern University, MM from Sam Houston State University, DMA from the University of Houston
His research focuses on string sight-reading, tuning, and improvisation, with publications in leading journals such as the Journal of Research in Music Education and American String Teacher. He has co-authored several influential books on orchestral techniques and pedagogy.
