Matthew Rolston

Matthew Rolston is an Adjunct Associate Professor at ArtCenter College of Design’s College of Art and Design, specializing in Film/Photography. His career spans over four decades as a photographer, filmmaker, and creative director, notable for iconic portraits of celebrities like Madonna and Beyoncé, and collaborations with brands like L’Oréal and Burberry. He holds an honorary doctorate from ArtCenter (2006).

Education: Studied at Chouinard Art Institute, Otis College of Art & Design, San Francisco Art Institute, and ArtCenter College of Design. His research focuses on the intersection of celebrity culture, fashion aesthetics, and fine art through large-scale photographic projects like Talking Heads: The Vent Haven Portraits and Hollywood Royale.
