Matthew Gillis is an Interim Assistant Professor at Woodbury University's School of Architecture and co-founder of G!LL!S design studio. He holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida.

His research focuses on material experimentation, computational labor, and spatial expression through both speculative and built projects. Recent work explores interior urbanism, robotic fabrication, and landscape integration in architectural practice.
Matthew's design studio has been recognized with international exhibitions at the Goethe Institute, ACADIA Conference, and Architecture + Design Museum. His teaching spans institutions like SCI-Arc, OTIS College of Art and Design, and UCLA Extension.
