María Amor Barros del Río

María Amor Barros del Río is a Professor at the Universidad de Burgos within the College of Humanities and Communication, Department of Philology. Her academic journey includes a PhD in 2001, a MA in English (1995), and a MA in Anthropology (2012).

Research Focus: She explores

• Irish Literature with emphasis on women writers and migration narratives
• Gender Studies including feminist analysis, gender bias in textbooks, and female agency
• English Language Teaching methodologies with digital tools and critical pedagogy
• Social and Cultural Anthropology through transnational education and European research networks

• Co-organizer of the First International Interdisciplinary Conference on Verbal Humor (2018)
