Mark D. Caudle

Dr. Mark D. Caudle is a contract instructor in the School of Systems and Logistics at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), focusing on project management and weapon system acquisition management education.

Dr. Caudle's educational background includes:

• Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Business Logistics & Supply Chain Management, with a Minor in Industrial & Systems Engineering) from The Ohio State University (1999)
• Master of Arts in Business from The Ohio State University (1998)
• Master of Science in Systems Management from AFIT (1991)
• Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina (1984)

Dr. Caudle is a retired Air Force acquisition officer with extensive experience in weapon system development, including the C-17, Advanced Cruise Missile, and F-15E programs. After earning his doctorate, he directed the Graduate Systems Management program at AFIT and later joined the faculty of the School of Systems and Logistics. He retired from active duty in 2006 after nearly 22 years of service and continued as a civilian faculty member until retiring from civil service in 2019. Since then, he has worked as a contract instructor for AFIT and founded his own business education and consulting company.

His research and teaching interests focus on:

• Project Management methodologies and applications
• Weapon system acquisition management
• Industry standard project management practices

Dr. Caudle has received notable recognition for his work:

• Dr. John W. Demidovich Award from AFIT's School of Systems and Logistics (2006)
• The Ohio State University Ackerman Award for logistics dissertation (1999)
