Mark Adams is a Lecturer in the Department of Performing and Fine Arts at York College, CUNY. He holds an MA in Music Performance from Queens College (2014) and a BFA in Music Performance (Classical & Jazz) from City College (1991). His expertise spans Piano, Jazz Improvisation, African American Music, and Western European Music traditions. Adams has published extensively, including the Basics series and Piano Magic Method. He has received awards for leadership and service from York College and national organizations.
Active as a performer and recording artist, Adams has collaborated with jazz legends like Roy Ayers, Ron Carter, and Savion Glover, and has performed globally. He currently serves as Music Director for Roy Ayers and leads the ensemble Soulful Night Of Keys. His discography includes albums such as Asceticism (2002) and I Forgot To Remember To Forget (2018).
