Marisa Youngs

Marisa Youngs is an adjunct professor at Winthrop University, holding roles in both the Department of Music (College of Visual and Performing Arts) and Arts Administration. She teaches applied trumpet, music theory, and aural skills, and has been affiliated with Winthrop since 2018. Her professional performance career spans orchestras and chamber groups across the Carolinas, U.S., Europe, and Australia, with a focus on new music advocacy. She chairs the New Works Committee for the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and recently joined the MAAA program as a research writing professor.

Marisa actively mentors students, many of whom have secured scholarships and leadership roles, and collaborates with educational institutions and summer festivals beyond Winthrop.
