Dr. Sienkiewicz is a passionate advocate for solfège and ear training pedagogy, with research focusing on Alexander Arutiunian’s Big Soviet Armenian Style. His work bridges performance practice, music education, and historical analysis. He has presented widely on trumpet repertoire and aural skills, particularly within the International Trumpet Guild community, where he chairs the Research Room. His teaching philosophy integrates the Suzuki method’s ear-first approach with formal musicianship training.
As a performer, he holds positions with the Jackson Symphony (principal trumpet since 2014) and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra (second trumpet since 2017), and has performed with numerous regional orchestras including the Nashville Symphony and Knoxville Symphony. His interdisciplinary career reflects a deep commitment to music education, performance, and scholarly inquiry.
Dr. Sienkiewicz is a pioneering Suzuki trumpet educator—the first in Tennessee and among the first globally—serving as vice president of the Middle Tennessee Suzuki Association. He has published pedagogical articles in local and national Suzuki journals and previously taught at Gordon College, Keene State College, and Plymouth State University. He also coached chamber music at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
