Dr. Maria Alexopoulou is a Research Associate at the Center for Research on Antisemitism (ZfA) at the Technische Universität Berlin, where she leads projects within the 'Research Institute for Social Cohesion' since October 2020. She held an Acting Professorship in Contemporary History at the University of Mannheim (Fall 2022–Spring 2023) and completed her habilitation there in December 2022 with a thesis on 'Racist Knowledge in the Transformation of the Federal Republic of Germany into an Immigration Society (1940–1990).'
Her research focuses on racism criticism, migration history, and the Federal Republic's history. She has led projects such as the 'Boehringer Historical Archive' and contributed to oral history initiatives like 'All Roads Lead to Mannheim.'
