Marco Behtash

Marco Behtash is a Double Bass Tutor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Born in Berkeley, California to Italian and Iranian parents, he holds a Master's degree from the institution under Rinat Ibragimov and Luis Cabrera. His orchestral career includes Principal bass no. 2 with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden since 2022, and prior roles with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and San Francisco Symphony. Notable collaborations include performances with conductors Bernard Haitink and Antonio Pappano, and artists like Joyce DiDonato and Anna Netrebko.
