Lynne Buchanan

Lynne Buchanan, PhD, APRN-NP, BC, is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the BSN to DNP program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Nursing. She specializes in adult gerontology, health promotion, tobacco treatment, and innovative care delivery models for rural populations.

Her research focuses on expanding primary care workforce capacity through academic-practice partnerships, therapeutic lifestyle changes, and tobacco addiction control. Recent work explores telehealth simulations and system-level interventions for addiction management.

Key publications include studies on alcohol use disorder interventions, telehealth nursing simulations, and contributions to nursing education frameworks. She consults nationally on tobacco treatment and has developed digital tools for nicotine relapse prevention.
