Luísa Santos

Luísa Santos is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences, where she contributes to interdisciplinary research in cultural studies, contemporary art, and curatorial practice. Her work aligns with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and cultural development.

Her research centers on narrative, subjectivity, silence, and the uncanny within visual and moving image arts. Her curatorial and editorial work emphasizes marginalized voices and alternative knowledge systems.

Recent publications and projects, such as Cultures of Silence (2022) and Arctic Routes, Southern Ways (2022–2026), reflect a thematic continuity in examining silence, institutional dynamics, and cross-geographical narratives. Her work bridges artistic practice with academic theory, emphasizing socially engaged art and postcolonial critique.
