Martin Seeds

Martin Seeds is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Art and Media, University of Brighton. His practice-based research explores themes of Northern Irish identity, memory, conflict, and cultural borders through mixed media artwork, exhibitions, and publications.

• Education: Master and Bachelor of Photography from the University of Brighton.

His work examines the interplay between personal narratives and political landscapes, focusing on how geopolitical divisions provoke intra-community conflict. He employs experimental imaging technologies and material image practices to interrogate identity dissonance and myth.

Notable achievements include a Deutsche Borse Photography Prize 2020 nomination and participation in The Troubles Generation curatorial project, supported by the Genesis Kickstart Fund. Seeds actively engages in invited talks and exhibitions, analyzing conflict's impact on artistic expression and societal memory.
