Lora K. Talley

Dr. Lora K. Talley serves as the Chair of Strategic Initiatives and an Associate Professor of Anatomy at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). She joined UIWSOM in 2017 after 17 years at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health). She holds an adjunct faculty position at UT Health in Radiology and Cell Systems and Anatomy. Her academic focus includes human gross anatomy, neuroscience, and curriculum development.

• B.S. in Biology, St. Edward's University, 1997

Research & Teaching: Dr. Talley's research centered on developing treatments for stroke and traumatic brain injury, with over 35 publications. She directed courses in Dental Gross Anatomy and Radiologic Anatomy. As a teaching professor, she emphasizes fostering student confidence and motivation.

Strategic Initiatives: She leads programs to enhance student success at UIWSOM, focusing on curriculum innovation and educational strategies.
