Dr. Lomarsh Roopnarine is a Professor and Assistant Graduate Coordinator in the Department of History and Philosophy at Jackson State University (JSU). He holds a Ph.D. (2002), M.A. (1997), and B.A. (1994) in Latin American/Caribbean Studies from the University at Albany, SUNY. His research focuses on labor migration, resistance, human rights, and social identity formation in the Caribbean, particularly examining Asian indentured workers and trans-Caribbean identities.
