Her research focuses on understanding chronic health conditions, preventing hospital admissions, and improving healthcare services for respiratory diseases. Since transitioning from clinical practice as a community physiotherapist in the National Health Service, Liz has investigated methods for predicting Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) exacerbations using personal air pollution sensors, environmental exposure modeling, and electronic health records. She has also studied the effects of pulmonary rehabilitation on COPD exacerbations and is currently working to establish standardized definitions for respiratory diseases in electronic health records for international comparisons.
