Lisa Blackman

Lisa Blackman is a Lecturer in the Interior Design department at the University of Colorado Denver's College of Architecture and Planning (CAP). With a professional background as Vice President of Design at Slate (a Steelcase dealer in Denver, CO), she brings industry expertise to her teaching role.

  • BS in Interior Design from LaRoche University
  • Master’s in Architecture from CU Denver

Lisa has extensive experience in commercial and residential interior design across the Denver Metro Area, having implemented thousands of square feet of projects. She teaches Interior Design at CAP and previously held faculty positions at the Art Institute of Colorado and Arapahoe Community College, where many of her students now practice in the region.

Her research and teaching interests focus on the transformative impact of excellent design on human well-being and the built environment, with an emphasis on practical applications in both commercial and residential contexts.
