Li Chiao-Ping is the Sally Banes Professor of Dance and Vilas Research Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison's School of Education. She directs Li Chiao-Ping Dance and creates multimedia works exploring culture and identity through physicality and visual design.
Her research integrates dance with screendance, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary performance. She has developed The Extreme Moves Training MethodSM/TM and explores themes of cultural identity through movement.
Her recent works examine immigration narratives, truth-telling, and community connection, with performances adapting to digital formats during the pandemic.
