Jin-Wen Yu

Jin-Wen Yu is Professor and Chair of the Dance Department at University of Wisconsin-Madison's School of Education, holding the Patrick M. Virginia Horne Henry-Bascom Professorship of Dance and Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professorship. Formerly a soloist for Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, he has created over 100 works performed internationally.

His research explores choreographic innovation, intercultural performance, and dance pedagogy. His company Jin-Wen Yu Dance presents annual concerts and has toured internationally. His works integrate athleticism with artistic expression, exploring themes of cultural connection and human relationships.

He has received numerous honors including UNESCO invitation for International Dance Day (2005), Wisconsin Dance Council Award (2004), and NEA grants. His choreography has been presented at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and internationally across Asia and the Americas.
