Leo Kritikos

Leo Kritikos is a third-year full-time PhD student at the School of Law, University of Edinburgh, focusing on queer criminology and security studies. He serves as a Tutor in undergraduate courses including Criminal Law, Introduction to Global Crime and Justice, and Introduction to Criminology.

• PhD Research: Explores queer subjectivities beyond the fear/safety binary in urban spaces through participatory methods.
• Supervisors: Professor Richard Sparks and Dr Rae Rosenberg
• Funding: Supported by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Research Award (Law) PhD Scholarship

Research Interests center on:

• Queer criminology and LGBTQ+ security narratives
• Non-linear spatial experiences of queer communities
• Intersectional analysis of hate crime, urban design, and social geography
• Critical methodologies emphasizing participatory research
