Leila Walker

Leila Walker is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries, and Education at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).

Her academic expertise spans across several key areas:

• Science education (Primary and Secondary)
• Education technology
• Social-emotional learning and personal development

With over 25 years of professional experience, Dr Walker has established herself as an educator, researcher, and education technologist who has worked across practice, private, and third-sector environments to deliver innovative education solutions worldwide. Her career began with training and work as a secondary education teacher, which she leveraged to develop teachers and create impactful educational products and services.

Dr Walker actively collaborates with Pearson and Persona Education to explore the benefits of social-emotional skills on student wellbeing, attainment, and employability in Secondary and Further Education. She has developed notable educational platforms including Generation Global, iDEA, and most recently Persona Life Skills - an online platform designed to support teenagers' wellbeing.

Her academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons), PGCE, MPhil, and PhD.
