Leigh Carter

Leigh Carter is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Teacher Licensure at the School of Education, University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University and has over 30 years of experience in K-12 education across Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas.

Her research focuses on mentoring practices for early career educators and academic support through wraparound services. Dr. Carter aims to prepare teacher candidates to be "Day-One Ready" through her work in field experiences and licensure coordination.
