Laura Roberts

Laura Roberts is a Professor of Piano and Senior Postgraduate Tutor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she has taught since 1992. She holds external examiner roles at the Royal College of Music. Her career combines performance, scholarship, and pedagogy, with a focus on 19th-century music and piano performance.

Education and Training: Laura studied under Imogen Cooper and participated in masterclasses with renowned artists like Andras Schiff and Richard Goode. She earned awards from the Myra Hess Trust, Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, and others.

Research and Publications: She is completing a scholarly book on Clara Schumann (Ashgate Publishing, 2023) and has presented at international symposia, including the Schumann Symposium at LSO St Luke’s and Wigmore Hall study days on Schubert and Fauré.
