Larisa Veloz is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Texas at El Paso. She earned her doctorate from Georgetown University with research focusing on gendered migrations between Mexico and the United States. Her work examines revolutionary diasporas, Depression-era deportations, and wartime bracero controls (1900-1950).
Her research interests include U.S.-Mexico border history, migration patterns, and gender studies. She teaches courses on Borderlands history, 20th-century Mexico, Mexican migration, and Latinos in the U.S.
