Lane Hines Woodke

Lane Hines Woodke is an Assistant Professor of Law at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, where she teaches courses related to employment discrimination. She joined the faculty in August 2023.

• BA in Political Science, The University of Alabama, 1995

Research & Teaching Interests: Professional Responsibility, Civil Pre-Trial Practice and Litigation, Employment Discrimination, Civil Rights, and Prison Litigation. Her expertise spans litigation and legal ethics, with a focus on civil rights and employment law.

Professional Experience: Prior to Cumberland, Woodke served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama for over 21 years, including 11 years as Chief of the Civil Division. She previously practiced at Huie, Fernambucq & Stewart in Birmingham and clerked for U.S. District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn.
