Steven Rouse is a Professor at the J. David Rosenberg College of Law, University of Kentucky, where he teaches six courses annually, including popular experiential courses like Alternative Dispute Resolution and Negotiations. He was honored with the Teacher Who Made a Difference Award for his contributions to legal education. Previously, he served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Alabama School of Law and practiced as a litigator at Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago, where he revised an Illinois litigation guide. He also runs Rouse Dispute Resolution, specializing in civil mediation and arbitration.
Education highlights include graduating magna cum laude from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where he authored a thesis on jury use in parental rights cases. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn and earned dual bachelor’s degrees with three majors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a James Scholar.
Rouse has advised the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and co-coached the BLSA Negotiation team at UK Rosenberg. His expertise spans legal pedagogy, dispute resolution mechanisms, and civil litigation strategies.
