Kristine Samson

Kristine Samson is an Associate Professor at Roskilde University's Department of Communication and Arts, specializing in transdisciplinary research at the intersection of environmental humanities, urban ecologies, and artistic activism. Her work focuses on environmental justice, multispecies commoning, and participatory design methodologies. Holding a PhD from Roskilde University (2010), she has conducted research in multiple countries including Chile, Brazil, and Canada.

Samson's research integrates arts-based methods, multispecies ethnography, and spatial theory to explore just transitions in urban-rural landscapes. She advocates for 'slow activism' through practices like regenerative agriculture and eco-art, emphasizing embodied knowledge and collective world-making.
