Kristina Bauer

Kristina Bauer is a pianist and lecturer at the University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM), serving as contact person for young students in the HMTM Young Academy since 2025. She maintains an international performance career as a piano duo with her sister Martina Bauer since 2000, featuring global tours, competition successes, and recordings with BMG/SONY.

Her academic background includes:

• Initial studies in music teaching for grammar schools and English language at University of Music and Theatre Munich (piano class of Prof. Michael Schäfer)
• Advanced piano studies at University of Music Würzburg and University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar (class of Prof. Arne Torger)
• Soloist and chamber music training with Rudolf Buchbinder at Basel Academy of Music

Bauer specializes in music pedagogy for gifted youth, with decades of experience mentoring national prizewinners and professional musicians. Her interdisciplinary work bridges music performance and visual arts through symposia participation, while her youth project development includes the Lang Lang International Music Foundation (New York), Junior Music Camp, and Beethoven Project. She co-develops HMTM's junior study program for gifted children since 2008 and serves as juror for "Jugend musiziert" and youth development competitions.

As an educator, she leads HMTM Young Academy initiatives connecting young students with professional development opportunities through structured mentorship and international collaborations.
