Kenneth S. Ramos, MD, PhD serves as Professor of Translational Medical Sciences and Alkek Chair of Medical Genetics at Texas A&M University, holding multiple leadership positions including Executive Director of the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, Director of the Center for Genomic and Precision Medicine, Associate Vice President for Research, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health Services for the Texas A&M University System, and Director of the Center of Excellence in Cancer Research.
His research program focuses on genomic mechanisms of disease with seminal work on LINE-1 retrotransposons and their role in genome instability. He integrates pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, and toxicology to develop novel therapies for oncologic, pulmonary, and vascular conditions through translational approaches.
