Professor Kenneth Amaeshi is a Full-time Professor at the European University Institute (EUI) Florence School of Transnational Governance, holding the Chair in Sustainable Finance and Governance. He concurrently serves as Chair in Business and Sustainable Development and Director of the Scaling Business in Africa Consortium at the University of Edinburgh. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Honorary Professor at the University of Cape Town. His work bridges academia, policy, and business, focusing on sustainable finance, governance, and Africa’s economic transformation.
He holds advanced degrees including a PhD in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick, MBA from the University of Nottingham, and a BPhil from Pontifical Urbanian University. His research explores sector-level policies for sustainability, financial market reforms, and institutional approaches to Africa’s development. He has pioneered the concept of Africapitalism and advises governments and multinational corporations on sustainable strategies.
Key projects include the One Kindred One Business Initiative (OKOBI) in Nigeria and roles in global networks like the Global Alliance for Banking on Values. His recent articles address post-pandemic corporate sustainability strategies and Africa’s business systems. He has been recognized through fellowships such as the Chevening Scholarship and serves on international committees like the European DIGITAL SME Alliance.
