Professor Kenneth Amaeshi is a global expert in sustainable finance and economic development, holding the Chair in Business and Sustainable Development at the University of Edinburgh Business School. He is also a Professor of Sustainable Finance and Chair in Transnational Governance (Global South) at the European University Institute, Italy, and a Visiting Professor of Leadership and Financial Markets in Africa at the London School of Economics. His work bridges academia, policy, and business, focusing on sustainability strategy, sector-level policies, and Africa’s economic transformation.

He actively explores strategies for financial innovation and governance, sector-level policies, and sustainable organizational culture, with a focus on developing economies and the practical application of Africapitalism to formalize grassroots ventures and reduce inequality.
Scientific Awards & Appointments: Amaeshi is a Chevening Scholar, Visiting Scholar at Oxford, and Scholar in Residence at Nigeria’s National Pension Commission. He co-edits Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility and serves on the European DIGITAL SME Alliance’s Scientific Committee, contributing to sustainable digitalization agendas.
Consultancy & Policy Work: Beyond academia, he leads executive training and consultancy projects in sustainable finance, ethics, and governance across Africa, Europe, and Asia. He chairs the One Kindred One Business Initiative (OKOBI) in Imo State, Nigeria, and advises governments and firms on economic empowerment and communal entrepreneurship.
