Kendra Fershee serves as Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Creighton University School of Law, where she teaches Family Law and Professional Responsibility. She holds a J.D. cum laude from Tulane Law School, where she was Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review, and an undergraduate degree in Communications and Political Science from the University of Michigan.
Her research focuses on family law policy, particularly issues affecting young parents, including:
- Access to education for parenting students
- Custody disputes and parental rights termination
- Title IX enforcement in education settings
- LGBTQ+ parental rights
- Digital-era legal professionalism
Her scholarly publications demonstrate consistent focus on family law reform and education equity, with recent work examining Title IX protections post-Dobbs and digital-age legal ethics. Earlier research established frameworks for protecting parental rights and addressing pregnancy discrimination.
Prior to joining Creighton, she held academic positions at West Virginia University (where she served as Associate Dean), University of North Dakota, and Penn State. She previously practiced commercial litigation at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and worked in political organizing focused on education access.
