Kelly Jackson, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Samford University’s School of Health Professions. She joined the faculty in 2017 and holds certifications including the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Alabama licensure.
Dr. Jackson earned her PhD in Health Sciences from Northern Illinois University, MS in Speech-Language Pathology, and BA in Communicative Disorders and Spanish from the University of Alabama. She also completed an Advanced Certificate in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology at Columbia University.
Her research focuses on bilingual language development, interprofessional collaboration, neurogenic communication disorders, and clinical education. She has presented at national conventions like the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and published articles on topics ranging from voice care for faculty to interdisciplinary learning activities.
Dr. Jackson teaches courses such as Special Populations in CSDS, Supervision in CSDS, and Motor Speech Disorders. Her work emphasizes practical clinical education and innovative teaching methodologies.
