Kelly Shenk

Kelly Shenk serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology and Coordinator of Advanced Clinical Placements at Lebanon Valley College, bringing over 30 years of expertise in medical speech-language pathology with specialization in adult neurological and medically complex communication/swallowing disorders.

Her academic foundation includes:

She maintains active certifications in Clinical Competence (ASHA), SPEAK OUT! Licensure, VitalStim Therapy, and LSVT Loud. Her clinical focus centers on dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and motor speech impairments, with dedicated efforts to expand community services for Parkinson's disease and aphasia patients through LVC's clinical programs.

Recent presentation trends reveal strategic community engagement targeting aging populations and caregiver support, emphasizing practical translation of clinical knowledge into accessible resources for continuing care communities and neurodegenerative disease support groups.

As clinical educator, Professor Shenk supervises first-year graduate clinicians at LVC’s Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders while coordinating advanced placements. Her teaching portfolio spans guided observations, service learning, and specialized clinics including Motor Speech Disorders (SLP 741), with emphasis on developing real-world experience for graduate students serving adult neurogenic populations.
