Katherine M. O'Regan

Katherine M. O'Regan is a Professor of Public Policy and Planning at NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She serves as Faculty Director of both the Master of Science in Public Policy Program and the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.

• PhD in Economics from University of California at Berkeley
• Former Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (April 2014–January 2017)

Her research focuses on poverty, spatial inequality, and housing policy, including residential segregation, concentrated disadvantage, and the impact of housing programs on neighborhoods. She has contributed to debates on affordable housing reforms, fair housing, and eviction practices in New York City.
