Katalin Downing is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She currently serves on leave while deployed with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) to UN/Ukraine.

Research focuses on the United Nations, international law frameworks, human rights operationalization in conflict zones, and peacekeeping mechanisms.
