Kari Rissanen is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and served as an Academy Professor at The Academy of Finland from 2008 to 2017. His research focuses on structural and synthetic supramolecular chemistry, nanochemistry, X-ray crystallography, and crystal engineering.
