Kari Tapani Rissanen is a Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and served as Academy Professor at the Academy of Finland (2008–2012). He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry (1990) from the University of Jyväskylä, specializing in X-ray structural studies. His roles include leadership in academic committees, such as chairing the Jyväskylä Summer School and steering Finland's nanoscience programs. He is a member of prestigious organizations like Academia Europaea and the Royal Chemical Society.
