Karen Hall

Karen Hall is an Associate Professor in Drama Education at the University of Sussex, School of Education and Social Work. She specializes in Drama Pedagogy, curriculum development, and playful pedagogies in teacher training.

• Undergraduate: First-class BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London
• MSc in Learning and Teaching from the University of Oxford
• PGCE in Secondary Drama from Goldsmiths, University of London

Her research focuses on:

• Drama curriculum design and policy in secondary education
• Playful pedagogical strategies for drama teacher training
• Bridging neuroscience and educational practice

Recent scholarly engagement includes a presentation on Neuroscience, pseudoscience and brain myths (2020). She holds fellowships from the Higher Education Academy and Chartered College of Teaching, and chairs the Standing Committee for Initial Teacher Education in Drama (SCITED).
