Karen Gischlar

Karen Gischlar is a Professor in the Department of Graduate Education, Leadership and Counseling at Rider University. Her research focuses on early/emergent literacy assessment and intervention, as well as multitiered systems of support.

Academic Background:

• Ph.D. in School Psychology from Lehigh University
• Ed.S. in School Psychology from Rider University
• M.A. in School Counseling from The College of New Jersey
• B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey

Professional Experience: Prior to joining Rider University, she worked as a kindergarten teacher and school psychologist in K-12 public schools for 19 years. Her certifications include School Psychologist, Student Personnel Services, and teaching licenses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
