Jyoti Sinha is a Lecturer in the Sociology department and affiliated with the Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her academic work centers on labor and gender issues, utilizing ethnographic methods to explore work culture and social dynamics through an emic perspective.

Sinha founded and leads the South Asian Workers’ Center (SAWC), fostering community-building initiatives. She also contributes to public sociology through participatory action research and has designed Honors College courses like Culture, Narratives & Migration and Women & Community Building, reflecting her expertise in gender and migration studies.
