Juliette Malley is an Associate Professorial Research Fellow and Senior Fellow at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) School for Social Care Research. She co-directs the NIHR-funded Social Care Rapid Evaluation Team (SOCRATES) and serves as Deputy Director (Social Care) for the Policy Research Unit in Policy Innovation and Evaluation (PIRU). Her work focuses on adult social care policy, innovation, and outcome measurement, particularly in England and the Global North. She holds a PhD in Social Policy from LSE and degrees from the University of Cambridge.
Her research examines policy evaluation, digital care technologies (e.g., electronic care records and social care technology funds), and innovation adoption in social care systems. Key projects include the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (ASCOT), evaluations of Research Practice Partnerships in care homes, and studies on loneliness among elderly care users. She also leads the Adult Social Care Innovation Community to foster collaborative problem-solving among practitioners and researchers.
Recent articles highlight her contributions to understanding loneliness in long-term care, scaling social care innovations, and implementing digital tools like electronic care records. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications, aiming to improve care quality and policy decisions in aging populations.
