Judith the Mayor

Judith the Mayor is a Professor at the La Cambre Horta Faculty of Architecture, Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She holds a doctorate from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and served as Vice-Rector for International Relations and Development Cooperation at ULB (2018-2020). Her international teaching spans doctoral programs in Kinshasa (ISAU), Porto-Novo (School of African Heritage), and Togo (EAMAU).

Her research examines:

• Participatory methodologies in architecture and urban planning
• Decolonial critiques of architectural historiography
• Power dynamics in urban landscapes, particularly in colonial and post-industrial contexts

Publications emphasize 19th-20th century European urbanism, participatory design frameworks, and interdisciplinary analyses of architecture's socio-political role. Her 2021 work on Brussels' easements exemplifies this blend of historical depth and theoretical innovation.
